Alright, I've never really delved into a Dana 35 before, but mine needs a new oil ring on the inside of the differential side of the axle. Its leaking fairly bad. Now, as usual, I'm going to replace most if not all of the 'soft' parts and throw new bearings in and what not so I shouldn't have any problems down the road.
Can I do this without disturbing the ring and pinion set up? How easy is this axle to pick at? I've honestly only down land rovers before and those things are so easy a caveman could do it. Luckily, I haven't evolved.

Basically I've got the same questions as clogston. Any ideas on cost and timeframe?

You asking about the axle shaft seal(s)?

If so, it's pretty straightforward, but you do have to disassemble it quite a ways if it's the passengerside shaft seal you need to replace (the driverside one can be done just by removing the wheel/spindle/knuckle/axleshaft). The differential housing would need to be removed from the beam in order to gain access to the circlip that holds the passengerside shaft inside the diff carrier.

Bearings are a little more likely to upset the ring & pinion's mesh pattern, although if you use the same brand bearings as what's already in there, you'll be less likely to have it change on you (FWIW, the bearings in a front axle almost never need changing unless they're water damaged or damaged from lack of lube).

part numbers?

Anyone know the part numbers for the differential axle seals?
I can't tell from the parts stores web sites which are which?
I've got the TTB 35.
