Trying to maintain this truck as a daily. I love how I can just drive over potholes with no problem.

This site has been very helpful since say one.

I plan to do some type of engine swap which would include air conditioning. Looking for ideas that also includes easy maintenance and extreme reliability.

damn, looks great.

I'm in the rust belt, those trucks are a distant memory up here.

Non-original 2.0L Inline 4 with I think has 50k miles swapped in the mid 2010s. Thinking of retrofitting the a/c but not sure if parts are as easily available?

Welcome. Nice looking truck!

Theres options...like vintage air. But trying to piece togther factory pieces might prove to be a bitch.

A 2.0 saddled with air though is going to be dog slow.

2.3 Lima would probably be the easiest, it would mount on your current transmission.

A speed machine it will not be but it will better than what you have. They got more power as they went.

Or you could go stupid and go 2.3 Ecoboost with a 2.3 Duratech M5OD transmission and have 300hp and A/C.

Welcome! Dallas summer with no ac has to be rough

I had an 88 before buying my 93, then sold it before moving from TN back to OK.
Wish I had kept it, the frame and lots of body parts were pure rust but it had a new motor in it.
I had the motor title but must have let it go with the truck. To this day I cannot recall what motor it was

Good luck with yours man, welcome to TRS :)
