D35

No I don't. A buddy of mine bent one this past summer. He came down off a ltedge and there was a rock hiding in a small bush. Bent the drive beam enough that the beam was contacting the center U-joint. I know of a couple other guys that have bent them

Thanks Joel, you just gave me an idea for a project. I bent mine last summer too. My buddy, (Digger on RRORC) pulled it out with his winch so I could drive it home. Same thing here, the center joint was sandwiched. It was bent so far back it broke the RTV seal & started leaking. Luckily, the lift brackets were fine & dandy. Then Mark, (Bloodbane) found me a good one from a boneyard that I put in but I didn't strengthen it. I know it's just a matter of time before I bend it again. Thanks for the idea :icon_thumby:

Maybe it's the typical wheeler attitude in me............When it breaks, fix it. But because of Joel's thread, now I need to think along the lines of................When it breaks, make it stronger. Next month, the weather should start getting good enough to ride the Thumper to & from work so I guess I'll be taking apart the front suspension, buying some steel, & dusting off my welder.................Thanks Joel, thanks alot :annoyed: :D :derisive:

With teh things I was planning. I needed to find a spare set of beams and tear nearly everything off them. After doing alot of reading I thought I may as well beef them up since they are down to nothing already.

It was either this or a D44 conversion:rolleyes:, which I may still do.:dntknw:

I may build another set of beams later down the road with a few other tweekes.

I'm a copycat so really none of this is new. You just won't find stuff like this here on TRS. SO I had to research elsewhere. Don't forget I'm posting all this stuff on VMS, with more details.:secret:

I may post a pic here and there on TRS. Maybe I'll Just wait till it's all together and on the truck. I know I'll have more tweeking of things, and still have lots of Fab work to do.

This small idea turned into a full out redesign on my suspension.:icon_twisted:

Rear suspension is next once the front is finalized, with other mods.

I tore my beam about 3 years after I left the shear bolt out of it. The Duff radius arm failed too.

Can an F250 D44 outer be made to go on there?

Sure anything can. Get a D44HD or D50 TTB and cut the ends off and graft them to the D35 beams. It would be no different than what these guys are doing to widen the D35 beams.

Here is teaser, Just cuz I'm an asshole!
