Do they make these? I like having the option of free and lock but these stock and the avm hubs feel flimsy, don't like the plastic.

If there's another option that'd be awesome, or should I swap the cv assemblies from a 2001+ ranger with the live axles? I just like the axles not spinning when I'm unlocked to preserve them when they aren't used, and have less tire, diff, and driveshaft wear and all the seals and such

TTB hubs are all plastic.

Mine have been fading from pink to white for the 14 years I have had the truck, otherwise I haven't had a problem with the plastic knob.

Guessing for the 15 years before I got it they had faded from red to pink...

Yeah but ttb can get warn hubs aren't those metal?

The bodies on ttb hubs are cast aluminum. The dials are plastic. The avm/ rugged ridge hubs are the only manual locking hubs available for your truck.

Would it be detrimental to my diff If I could have one made of metal? Like is there a good reason they chose plastic vs metal other than cost?

Are you planning to install it inside the diff housing? If not I see no reason they should cause damage if made from metal.

Okay no just adding it to the end of the cv spline like a normal hub. I just feel like these plastic ones are gonna blow up anytime, why would they choose plastic?

No I haven't whats the mod?
