Aren't most hybrids running a CVT?Ewwwww that's what their putting in the Maverick? I thought it was getting the normal 10 speed auto.
Aren't most hybrids running a CVT?
Clarification after a little digging...
The smaller engine used in the hybrid setup gets the CVT and a front wheel drive only config.
The 2.0 comes with all AWD Mavericks and gets an 8 speed auto unit.
Ford has been using that ECVT since 2013.The main thing that drew me to the Maverick hybrid was the use of the 2.5 duratec which is a tried and true reliable motor I know how to work on. But now I'm leery if it's got some crazy weird untested ECTV transmission. May wait a year to see how many fail first...

It's already been stated here somewhere that Ford used Toyotas hybrid system, including the eCVT.In what vehicles?
