Cutting Weight on a Ranger

i dont think ive ever checked how many mpg i get in my truck and i pay an average of $3.20 a gallon. i just dont give a damn since i bought a "truck" and new it wasnt gonna be cheap on fuel.

That's what I did. I'm also proud of my truck with how it looks. I finally put pics up in the "Show off your truck" board. I get about 27-29 Hway and 23 for everything else.

Just looked at your pics, wow! Mines not nearly as pretty as yours. Think "rusty POS". It's about to get a ~250 HP 2.3T setup here pretty soon and then a gloss army jeep green paint job. Then I'll have to buy another POS old ranger for gas mileage daily driving. It's a vicous cycle!

Thanks for the kudos. You wouldn't almost believe the amount of rust on the bottom side of my pickup. The body mount brackets are just about gone on four of them. I'm planning on cutting the ones off of my junker 85 and bolting them on in place.

I really want my other ranger back... So when I get this one all peachy, I'm going to sell it.

I will probably list it on here, so I'll keep this place up to date if I do.

Would removing transfer case and 4 wheel drive system on a ranger improve MPG?

Please tell me you aren't seriously considering doing this to your truck.

if you want milage how about you check your tire pressure, plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, check the catalytic converter and then put a for sale sign in the window and buy a car.......





or do a diesel swap....

My 4 cylinder 2wd gets a steady 20mpg. City, highway, doesn't matter. Could be worse I guess...
