Custom Driveshaft

i have a 01 with a 4" lift and cant keep a stock driveshaft together. my question is instead of droppin 400 dollars on the superlift shaft has anyone made their own with a cv joint/ spare parts from another shaft? i need my 4wd but i dont really have the money

Is this the front shaft you are talking about?

yeah the front drive shaft. it keeps burnin up the joint at the transfer case bc of the angle

Does your front shaft have the Stock for '98-up "Rezeppa" CV joint?

If so get ANY junk 13-54 T-case from an earlier Ranger or explorer and swap out the front yoke pieces then go hunting for a '95-96 Explorer front shaft
These used the earlier Double cardan joint that is m0ore tolerant of driveline angle than the Rezeppa.

Actually it isn't as easy as swapping the yoke, because the
late "6-Bolt" drive cup for the rezeppa is attached INTERNALLY and
there is no nut, so you'd also need several other parts... or simply
an early 13-54 electric shift T-case as an organ donor.

yeah after looking i figured there isnt an easy way to swap them. but i have the yoke off the earlier t-case and am working on a plate that will bolt on the cup, then cut the spare yoke and weld it to the plate as an adapter, then i'll just need a shaft. hopefully my adapter wont make the whole assembly too long tho...
