Cummins In A RBV . . .Anybody Tried It?

miami diesel AWD 6bt twin charged and compounded into a ranger. i am also considering a 6BT swap. Ive been looking at swp trucks. Im looking for 89-90 rigs with the 5 speed/4wd setup. Ive found a few for around 2000$. Well someday I hope to make it happen. the toughest part would be stifening the chassis up and all new running gears; suspesion, springs, rear end, crossmember, x braces you name it. I hope someday ill be able to dig in. I want the 89-90 cummins setup do to the bigger injectors and adjustable VE pump. My GFs father has a 91 cummins and i love it. The can trun 500,000 easy and as for power can be turned up pretty high. Your only limit is your wallet.

here is a few rangers that have doen the swap one is 2wd and the other is 4wd

where I work they have a few 5.9 powered buses in the fleet, all except for 2 are pushing 350k miles and they still run very well with little more than regular maintenance. There is one that we had to tear the front of the motor down on because it was leaking oil like a sieve but otherwise runs great. The motors are pretty damn big for their displacement though and definately overkill for a ranger. I would love to see someone put one of the 1.9 vw tdi motors in a ranger or similar truck. I have a friend that is pulling roughly 115 hp and 300# out of one of those, with mild mods, more than enough to push a ranger around and get awesome mileage.

unless you set it up to run on dual fuel (veggy oil and diesel), its not worth it.

id love to have a dual fuel capable daily driver, as veggy oil (at least for now) is free and readily available in my area.

my neighbor swapped the 6.9 out of his 87 1ton for a ih dt360. the swap was 9 years ago. he has put over 800,000 on it.......it is starting to get tired tho

boy i am amazed at how stupid people really are.

like a regular 6bt is gonna fawk up a ranger. or wont fit...why the fawk not? the excuses are silly. a rbv chassis will hold up to regular 12 valve power with no problems whatsoever.

if it comes in a regular passenger car or big three pickup a ranger will hold it no problem...

why is that so hard to understand??

why even have this forum if shit cant be done???

the frame will hold up fine but because of the possible torque output it would be best to reinforce trhe frame.
