Crap. Mixing oil weights?

wow, for all you're spending in oil and time, i'd just bite the bullet and get the gasket replaced. it is the gasket and not a hole there i hope. if you can't do that, then there is something better than jb weld. it called Marine-Tex and is sold at most boat places. it's not cheap, but it works amazingly well. i always keep some around and also take it with me on long trips. good luck for sure.
It's the pan. You have to pull the engine to replace it.

what abuot the car?
Broke down. That's why I'm driving the truck.

u know i knew this guy whos' truck had a terrible oil leak, so he always had an old pan to put under the truck when he parked it to collect the oil and put it back in the engine lol.
I did that for a while, then somebody stole it.

zip tie it to the truck then get a hand pump with intake in catch pan and the outake into the oil fill with the pump in the cab.

problem solved.... except for the looking like your beating off before starting the truck... but thats ok.

Count me in as another Rotella user. I use the synthetic 5W-40, and my motor loves it (320+k).
I also use it in my BMW ('89 735i), and she's creeping up on 200k, and doesn't use a drop of oil.

I just started using Rotella in my 2.9, it does carry the spec for gas engines. Did a little research on it before I tried it and figured out that the diesel oil may in fact be BETTER for older gas engines than the current gas rated oils. It carries more of a specific anti wear additive that is designed to keep the surfaces of flat tappet cam followers happy for a longer period of time (ZDDP I believe). I used to use 10w40 with some Lucas to keep the oil pressure up above 40 psi when hot. I now use just 15w40 Rotella with no additives and my oil pressure is better as well. Not to mention my oil consumption seems to have dropped.

My experience was with a boss that bought engine oil in bulk for the tractors, instead of placing an extra order for gasoline oil....... he ran the same oil in everything he owned.

We did in fact have trouble, with a forklift an inline 300 (twice) and a couple lawn-mowers.

I do not run Plus-50 or Cashe IH engine oil in my trucks, because when we opened the afore mentioned gas engines, bad things were inside, scarry unmentionable things.
