cracks in cone

I just picked up a couple of kenwood 12s that have minor cracks in the cone, is there any way of fixing this, could I just leave them with the small cracks, or should I just take them back?

if its around the rubber outside you can glue that back if on the in actual cone buy new ones

Take them back, once you start bumpin them it will just get worse.

its not worth fixing it'll just keep tearing and if you put glue or anything that will make that spot heavier and could end up messing it up worse

hmmm......he is getting the better deal. They are cracked because they have been pushed hard and that is a good indication of how much life is left in them. I have never felt that buying used electronics is a good idea, you just never know how much they have been abused. But, in this case, you have a very good idea! Pass on em man, save up if you want 12's, or check out sonicelectronix.com, they are having a sale right now.

Is it the actual cone cracked or the dustcap? And to above poster: cracks has nothing o do with how hard they were pushed. Measuring the voice coils with a dmm is the only way to check to see how hard they've been pushed

I think it is just the dustcap. It double layered and only the top is cracked
The one on the bottom actually isn't cracked that bad, just gouged a bit. Would I be able to fix them with anything?

Uh yea, cracks are a good indication of abuse.

The surround isn't torn, my dog just decided he wanted to drool on it.lol
