could i make a 2x4 a 4x4?

Since you've already got your truck, you don't really need to buy any extra parts. This topic has been brought up yes, but usually with the answer of "by the time you buy all the parts you could have bought a 4x4". Since you have everything already, go for it. If your putting a lift on you will be taking a lot of the parts off anyway. Will take a lot of time though, but if your up for it have at it!
.

yea thats right.

basically be prepared to pull both engines and transmissions out, fab up some shit, and buy a bunch of parts that you never considered needing. but it can be done and you can have fun doing it, it just depends on your situation in life - whether you can afford to have 2 trucks torn apart and immoblie for a month or more and if you will be able to make one good drivable truck when its done.

yea well i gta lil nissan truck to drive. im up for tha work and im gona have some help so i think it will all work out smooth.

Take pics and leave updates. I'm curious about this. Good luck to ya

It's extremely easy to turn a 2x4 into a 4x4, take two 2x4s and screw them together large faces together, and viola, a 4x4.

I say go for it. The right way to do it is to take your 4x4 crossmember and put it in the 4x2 frame. But, there is a write up somewhere on the site by a guy that modified the 4x2 crossmember to install the 4x4 front axle. A manual t-case would save some headaches with wiring also.

Wouldn't it be easier to make the 2WD into an SAS 4x4 instead of a stock style one?

of course you can make a 2x4 into a 4x4. take two 2x4's and screw them together and bam, you've made a 4x4

yes i would really want to do that but i dont have the money now and would take a bit to get it. i will eventually sas it but for now no. i already have the parts off my truck to put on tha 2wd one so im stickn with that now

Just take 2 trucks when you go offroad... Have your buddy ride the trail in reverse with a chain attached to you and be your front wheel drive! Save time and money.
