Coronavirus

I got it the first time...

A friend of mine got released from the hospital yesterday... he’s been in there since Early December. First was Corona, then pneumonia, then a surgery related to the original Corona, then rehab. It’s been a hell of a time for him.

Good to read he survived, sounds like it was touch and go

Glad he’s back. That sounds horrible.

He said the first few weeks were absolute hell. His oxygen level dropped into the 40s (75-100 is normal, 60s you need supplemental oxygen). After that it slowly got better. He’s still got to take it easy, but he’s amazed that he’s still alive.

Dad was at 72% when they put him in for a week last year. They actually double checked it with a different machine because at that level generally people can't walk and he walked in. He said yes he did walk but it wasn't easy.

Little kids are different for a lot of things but we have a owelette sock thing for our son that monitors heartrate and oxygen level when he is sleeping, on that it is red below 80% on the graph.

40% would be very low in my unexpert opinion :fie:

Got a friend, in and out of the hospital with various complications.... he lost a bunch of weight. "Covid diet" as it has been expressed to me. He had to take a bunch of medications; his wife, not so much.

Makes "Jenny Craig" look like a picnic by comparison!

Kinda glad I was just able to stay home and bitch about it.....

It's not a great diet program, all the weight comes back with a vengeance when you get out plus extra because you dont feel like doing much for awhile afterwards.

I’d rather be alive and overweight (as of this posting, I am.), than skinny and dead.

Love to all who have been sick, and love to all who have been stressed over sick loved ones. Love. Love. Love. It's good medicine.
