Coolant problems in my 4.0

I have a complete head gasket replcement kit from fel pro ???
I already have bought head bolts...
I dont remember right off what brand the bolts are but i know im done with off brand ebay/amazon parts...
the engine i pulled out has a good bottom end so i want to take my 2 best heads to the machine shop to be tested and prepped for reinstallation... and return that junkyard motor (has 90 day waranty)...
what do you think on that course of action?
Name brand head bolts or not I would still switch over to studs and return the bolts. Felpro gaskets are not as great as people think. As a former shop tech my most returned vehicles were those who opted for felpro gaskets. I had lots of issues with them on my own vehicles and switched away from them. They're basically coated cardboard. Step it up to something more like the multilateral steel gaskets and save some headache

Are is typically the front runner for studs. As for the head gaskets flat out makes a rubber coated copper head gasket which is much better than felpro. Summit carries them

The day I picked her up

Arp steads sorry. Autocorrect issues smart dumb phone and all. But yes the brand for the gaskets is flatout

They are a bit on the pricey side but with the 4.0 ohv it's pretty much the best option. Every ranger guy I know built their best 4.0 with either rubber coated copper or stacked stainless head gaskets

So
Im looking at theses gaskets, there are different sizes... what is the difference? .040 or .050 thickness
Different bores... what do i need?

I just want these head probs eliminated... live this truck but im sick of spending so much for it to just break and it sit in the yard ya know

Oh I know. I had a 91 explorer 4.0 that cracked the head at 70mph. Pulled over. When I came back to tow it it had been broken into and my entire system had been ripped out and my tools gone. Traded the explorer for a Buick.

My 2.9 ranger quit starting the other day and I dropped the starter 4 times and swapped around solenoids then replaced all cables. I now have 3 good solenoids and 1 good starting truck...took 3 days to find the ghost problem
