302 v8 with foxbody mustang 3 core radiator. Whenever i drive the truck and shut it off it will explode coolant out the cap for a few seconds then stop...13 psi cap not sure what psi cap is needed, am i off?

How did the engine run before you put it in the truck?

Did you do any work to the engine?

Is the radiator in good shape?

What kind of fan, is it in the shroud halfway, is the fan diameter appropriate for the shroud?

if a higher PSI cap helped then you were boiling coolant inside the water jacket...must be running pretty warm....

it runs between 180 and 200 deg , 192 degree thermostat. When i shut it off sometimes it will spike up to 220 deg.

wheres your temp sensor at?

perhaps you had a bad cap...but i still think its running hot.

Its been running cooler since i put the new cap on, it stays inbetween 180 and 190 when driving it. Seems normal.
