Not that I recommend this at all, but I was in a pinch with my 94 Ranger under a similar type of scenario. I bought the thing with a bad transmission which was removed by a garage and sat in the bed of the truck. When I went to put in the replacement tranny I noticed that the idiots CUT the quick disconnect fitting off of the line! I wanted to drive the thing that day so I took the fitting off of the old tranny, cut a slit in the remaining piece of hose that was on it and pulled it off. I then took a propane torch and lightly waved it around the end of the cut hose until it was just about too hot to touch and I jammed the fitting inside of it as hard as I could until it was all the way in there. I warmed it up again then slid a hose clamp over it and tightened it. Now i've had the truck for almost two years now and due to my own neglect the thing is still that way to this day. I have a replacement line for it laying around but keep forgetting about the damn thing every time I have free time. Odds are you don't have the proper fitting laying around though and even if you did I can't recommend that you do it that way.
