common bellhousing?

does anyone know what transmissions will directly bolt up to a 88 302 out of an F150? i want a 5/6 speed for racing. what will the bellhousings match up to? i was looking at a t5, t56, and the mazda 5 speed. advice?

as long as it has a small block bellhousing it will fit. All three of those trans will work, as long as they have a Ford Small Block bellhousing.

I do know that if you are going to run a Tremec 3550 or TKO, you will need a different bellhousing. The T-5 and Mazda no problem. Not sure if the T-56 has the same bolt pattern on the trans. or length of imput shaft. What kind of racing? Any kind I would think would rule out the Mazda. G-Force sells modified T-5 set up for road race or strip applications.

The 4.2L F-150 Mazda 5-speed still uses the old smallblock bellhousing, and puts the shifter in a better place than the regular smallblock versions.
