My clutch pedal just popped off the retainer bushing. I'm amazed the little plastic bushing runs the price range of about $8 to $25. Then after reading some posts here where people replaced the bushing only to have it pop off again.

Wonder what the best alternative solution is?

I'm a user of tie-wire around the yard. Anything better??

IDK about better, but I seem to remember holding mine together temporarily with an e-clip...

So I put a new plastic piece on and plugged it in. Sure enough, popped off a couple of times since then. Any other solutions?

So… I had this problem on my F-150. I got annoyed with it and used a big “hairpin“ style clip to hold it which worked right up until the master cylinder seized… I’m not sure if it started blowing the clip off because the master cylinder was going or if it popping off took out the master cylinder or if it was a combination. I put the clip back on with the new master cylinder because I didn’t want to buy another plastic piece

I took a bolt washer. I cut one side through to the center with a hacksaw. I put 2-3 cuts 1/2 way through the metal to make it more flexible.

Squeezed the washer around the post where it pushes through the pedal. I added a little bearing grease just to make sure the metal on the parts doesn't wear down too much. Works fine!! I also returned that plastic piece to the parts store, got my money back and wrote a nasty letter to the manufacturer quoting on-line reports of the piece not working.

I used a spring that hooked onto the clurch rod and stretched towards the passenger side abd hooked onto a convenient anchor.......keeps it on the clutch pedal.
