I got some air in my clutch system so I have been trying to bleed it today. I bled until no air came out and the pedal felt good and firm the way it should. Then when i went to drive, it worked fine on the first engagement but the second time, the bottom fell out and there was no pressure. I got back under it to bleed somemore and noticed fluid pouring out of the front of the tranny. Could my slave cylinder be blown? or maybe the o-ring on the hydraulic quick disconn from master to slave? need suggestions so i can get it back on the road today. thanks in advance

Almost certainly the slave cylinder itself. This will require dropping the transmission.

yeah, that's why i was hoping it wasn't the slave cylinder itself. i'm not in a position to drop the tranny, if that's the case i'm gonna have to get it towed back to my hometown (im off at college) to the shop where i do work on it. is there any way to test and make sure? or a way to get it to work enough to drive about 50 miles?

There's an inspection port (rubber boot) on the left side of the trans, pull it. Look inside the bellhousing if you can, or feel around with your fingers and see if its wet inside. If so, chances are the slave is shot. +1 to fastpakr's advice.

i feel pretty sure that it is the slave cylinder. checked out the hydraulic lines and disconnect and it looks good and o-ring is good. having a buddy trailer me to my uncle's shop on friday to fix. while i got the tranny out, what should i take a look at in there? obviously clutch parts, etc. anything else?
