Clutch fan

There could be some confusion on 2.9ls depending on what Fan Belts are used, V-belt or serpentine belt

95% of engines have the crankshafts spinning clockwise if standing in FRONT of the engine

So on V-belt engines all the pullies will spin clockwise
So a Fan clutch nut could unscrew if it was regular threads
Get a bolt hold the head in left hand but the END of bolt facing you, turn the bolt head Counter-Clockwise so the END is turning clockwise, if there was a nut on the bolt it would unscrew

With serpentine belts the crank pulley is ribbed, so any ribbed pullies will also spin clockwise
But some pullies are smooth, in contact with back(smooth)side of serpentine belt, and these spin counter-clockwise
So if the water pump pulley is smooth fan clutch nut will use regular threads
If its ribbed then reverse threads

My fan clutch nut turns counter clockwise to screw it back on.

So reverse threads

My fan shroud states "LEFT HAND THREAD ON FAN CLUTCH" meaning reverse threads.
I put a clutch on 5-6 years back & poking around under the hood the other day I noticed I need a new fan blade.
Looks like I can remove the fan without removing the clutch, but maybe have to remove the shroud bolts & place it towards the back.

I'll have to pay a higher price for the 2.9 fan (8 blades, 4 mounting holes, Ford parts). They're harder to find & that's ok, I don't want that junk a lot of parts places have.
4.0 blades (Good ones) are cheaper & everywhere. Oh well.

I would like to know why on some sites for the 2.9 fan it states "Extra and super cooling pkg." Is it just for A/C equipped,
which mine is ?

Update:
Had to remove the fan & clutch as 1 assembly. No biggy though.

I have never seen a 2.9 with the serpentine belt. Just the V belt. My sons 90 was V belt.
