I've got the cheap ass lift kit with the plate to drop the right hand beam and I've got a D35 on my new ranger, is their anyway to clearance the bracket or the diff so I wont punch a hole in it, or are bump stops the only way?

I believe you can clearance the bracket. I know somebody on here did it and had pics, I think it was Todd. Search for it, I know its here somewhere.

The best way to ensure that you won't contact the differential housing is to add bump stops or to get a real drop bracket.

Clearancing the bracket is possible, but will weaken it without welding the bracket directly to the plate afterward.

well it just so happens I am a very proficient welder. So all I need to do is observe where the bracket might be a problem, grind it out , then reinforce it by welding all the sides of the bracket to the drop plate. Would that work?

I don't see why not. Just be sure everything's reinforced well, and it'll probably be fine (I'd stiffen the plate up real good where it runs up the angled part of the crossmember)

Since the stock bracket is cast, some preheating couldn't hurt.
