Clean Engine Bay

Did a tune up on my truck last week plus replaced my leaking valve cover gaskets and got my engine bay all nice and clean, much better than it was before. While I was under there I gutted the a/c since it never really worked. Runs cooler now

Yes I am very pleased on how it came out, turns out there was actually an engine under all that crap . Downey, I took it to a shop and used their shampoo machine. I don't now exactly what kind of solvents are used but it took a few attempts to get it like that.

downey???? never heard to that normally i just pressure wash it with simple green or something like that but i will have to try that.

i have question did you take out the a/c pump on purpose or did it not work. it looks like you took out the whole system.

Thanks for clearing that up Jay. In resoponse to dangerranger911's question the reason I took out the a/c is that when I bought the truck, there had been no belt on the compressor for about 5 years and thus the system hasen't run in 5 years. I tried a belt and the clutch did not engage and I did not want to spend the extra money to fix it and re-charge the system. Plus it free'd up room in the engine bay.
