I am getting a clarion max385vd and i have been looking around and they sell bypass switches on ebay. I was wondering if anyone has ever done this or knows how to make one myself. they are to override the parking brake switch so the video will play with the truck in motion. I was wondering because one of the main reasons i got it is for my daughter to watch while we are in the truck. any ideas???

ask the people you got it from they can tell you how to do it. but they can do it for you. it eather needs a + or a - i hade to tie mine into the acc power to think the break was engaged all the time.

you have two "power" wire on your head unit. one that always on and the one that comes on when you turn the car on. or the accessory power or acc power.

con power is normally red.
acc power is orange or yellow

im sorry i swear im not a dumbass but whats acc power?

its cool man there no stupid questions.......just stupid people that ask question.

jking jking jking

Like I used to say when working in the refineries, the only stupid question is the one your scared to ask. I am not sure about your clarion but I know kenwoods you can ground the parking brake wire to bypass it. I did some research on the net about it to find out. Also read your paper work, if it has a wire that requires hooking to the parking brake for video play back then you can just ground it, but I know every radio maker is different too.

but you need to find out if it need to be powered or grounded. its 50/50 but idk what cound happen if it needs to be grounded and you put 12v to it.

I GOT IT!! the (grass) green wire needs to be on a toggle switch. the deck must see and open circut switch to a grounded one. thus the toggle switch. workin good now. excelent picture.
