Chop Top II

thats a nice shop you got there, i would love to work on my truck in there instead of outside in the snow, and on special occasions in a cold ass garage that is too short for my truck.. gotta put 31's on it just to get it in there.

update with bigger tired pics for the haters of my 30's

well i have decided to build my own leaf spring perchs for the rear. going to make them 9 inchs long to help with axle wrap and they will give me about 1.5-2inchs of lift for the rear. Didnt get a whole lot done yesterday spent most of the day chasing down parts and getting more oxygen for my torchs should have more pics later today of some sheet metal cutting and the bronco sitting on its own all the way around.

well i will be picking up some inner air locks for this build and i also
made a little more progress sitting on its own all the way around with fresh fender cutting in the rear.

Finally for today a little bit of Poser flex..

You weren't lieing :thefinger:

Lookin good man. Can't wait till you get it wrapped up and give it a thorough Cheap Thrills christening.

well its been a while since i posted an update. went and picked up another set of tires and inner air locks.. 38.5x11x16 boggers. not sure if im going to like them so they may be back up for sale soon. along with the inner air locks. but thats about all that i have to update thus far. got a new job trying to get settled into that and start saving up some money to get the project rolling again.

how did you stretch the rear? it doesn't really look like you moved the front hangers at all, did you put in different springs?

My guess is he flipped the springs around so the long end is to the front instead of the rear.

like sasquatch said im running explorer 4 door springs flipped around. gained about 6 inchs of wheel base and i pushed the front forward 2 inchs to get me to a total of 102inchs of wheel base. over the 94 that it came stock with. I have a long way to go but im hopeing to get going on it again here soon.

You should just drop it off at John's place, he'd have it ready to wheel for ya by tomorrow afternoon :D

i'm loving the build man! and i love the idea of making the spring perchs a bit taller than usual to gain lift! might have to steal that idea from ya!
