cherry bomb?

Cherry Bomb makes several muffler styles, and don't rip you like Flowmaster on the price. I personally don't like the sound of Flos. I had a Cherry Bomb cheapie on my 86 2.3, and it was a deep mellow tone. Wan't raspy, or fart can like at all. The longer the muffler, the deeper/quieter the tone.

Mufflers don't affect emissions tests, as emissions are handled by the cats in the exhaust system. Some states do have laws regarding how loud the exhaust system can be, but whether this is part of the inspection process in some states, I don't know. In Louisiana they call it a "brake tag," and I don't think they check for how loud the system is. I used to have a good friend in Louisiana, and he never mentioned it.shady

if its anything other than stock here in louisiana they can flag it, some places dont check the exhaust at all, but most will say glass packs are not mufflers no matter how long or big they are. just depends on who you go see, personally they ask if i have a cat on my trk when i get pulled over here in the city as the local ordinance says anything other than stock is illegal, just only enforced by a few assholes. personally im not impressed w/ the flowmaster as i have a super 44. the turbo didnt sound too bad, i think im going magnaflow duals w/ it next time. i have had fart cans on it b4, but mine were long (36") and had a 2 1/2 outlet w/ a 2/14 inlet, they sounded pretty good and deep to me. i may end up doing that again as the engine will be turbocharged this time.

I'm running an 18 inch Cherry Bomb Glasspack on my 86 2.9L, and it's decent sounding. I used to have a 12 inch cherry bomb, it was way louder though, i like the 18 inch...quieter but nice tone (p.s. my exhaust also dumps out the side)
