Check out my new 4x4 Ford van.

I had a quigly, loved it. This oen is not a quigly buid though, it was done by Quadravan in So Cal. CLose up I believe, need to google that and find out for sure.

I didn't know another company built 4x4 vans. That is good to know. Are they still in business?

I think they are done, but there is a builder in Oregon to. He used to sell his on ebay, found him when I was looking for my 05' that I had. I forget his name, he is still in business most likely.

Can I see a pick of the turbo'd 6.9l powerstroke? They never came stock turbo'd so it'll be interesting how the set it up. The first turbo'd 7.3's wer in 92-94 I think.

Either way this would make an auwsoume expidition vehical!

I will post a pic when I take the Dog House off, I just got it home yestersay, and havn't had time to do anything with it yet. The 6.9l and 7.3l non turbo engines were called IDI for in direct injection. They were not powerstrokes, the powerstroke came out in 94' in the Fords, and was available in manual trans only that year. 95' it was available with all trans combos. Both the IDI and the powerstrokes are great engines, but the IDI is much cheaper to repair and maintaine. Injectors for powerstroke are a small fortune, and so are injection pumps etc. Not the case with IDI, it is all way cheaper, and a non computer controlled engine. Pics when I can get them up, not to many days I hope.

It was an after market factory conversion job done by Quadravan. They made a lot of them back in the 80' and early 90's. Don't see top many of them today, especially in good shape. This one owned by an anal engineer at HP in San Jose. get this, I found a reciept in it today for the installation of the gearvendor overdrive, and new C6. He paid like $6000 to have that wrok done back in 1998. Wow that was a ton of cash. Albiet, I love the gearvendor in it, but the gearvendor alone he charged $2400 just for the parts. Not sure if that included the engine brake or not, would neeed to read it a little better.

My plans for now is to just drive it, I think we will do some road trips in it, some camping etc. I vacummed it today, the carpet is like new, it is in awsome condition overall. The paint is a bit faded, but after I sell my K30 Diesel Crew Cab 4x4, this van is going in to get the metallic blue repainted. The tan is still perfect. My kids love it to, I already have a take out Alpine CD player from my Explorer going in it, and it will get a 12" DVD roof top mount when I have the cash. Windows are getting limo tinted as well.

i thaught ford made a 4x4 van no ...

They dont amke one factory, never have. There is one authorized cendor that takes direct shipment of Ford vans for conversion, and that is Quigley. All the rest are independents.

there was one in the early 80s it had a vee drive bolted to the back of the trans and had a d30? pumpkin welded to the end of each front axle beam
