every morning when i start the car the check gauges light stays on and the oil pressure gauge stays dead, when i start driving it wakes up and the light goes off. i have noticed that this happens when the engine is cold, and maybe because the parking place is not plain ground, the car sleeps a bit inclined to the left. but when the weather is cold even on plain ground it does the same thing. :icon_confused:
is this normal? or do i have to check the oil pressure bulb?
i always check the oil level and all that stuff in plain ground before starting tha car every 2 days, and the levels are always where they have to be

thanks:icon_thumby:

edit: also the 93 ranger's oil pressure gauge always stays below the normal mark. sometimes very low sometimes near normal , but never in normal, what is wrong there??also the oil si checked every 2 days and always stays in the normal level( a bit below max)

The oil pressure sending unit may be acting up. I'm not sure of its exact location on the 2.5 though.

I just had this same EXACT thing happen to my wife's ranger. Her's is the 3.0L, but it made no abnormal noises, so I told her to drive it. It popped up to normal once the truck warmed up. I replaced the sending unit, and installed a mechanical guage. With the new sending unit it's fine now.

yep the same thing happens to mine once the engine warms the needle comes alive. i guess is not a big issue then, since i always check my engine levels before starting

Just replace the sensor, it's less than $10.
