I took my truck to my local autozone to get it scanned since i had the check engine light on. The code is p1443 and i need some guidance and everyones knowledge so i can figure out whats wrong with it. I lack of spare time to check for my self so if anyone can help me out itll be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Evaporative emissions system, Purge control valve flow problem.

Common issues are bad vacuum line, bad valve (should ohm out >190 ohms), bad cannister (they crack). Might also be a bad gas cap or a bad fuel filler hose (common problem). The valve should be on the DS of the engine bay, near the master cylinder area.

It usually won't affect performance unless its vacuum line is broken, making a vacuum leak. If that is the case, it may affect your idle and mpg.

The cannister is probably in front of the spare tire carrier area. Inspect it and its hoses, all the way forward.

Yep just had a bad cannister on a jeep and a bad gas cap on a caravan that threw related codes. Funny, people never suspect a gas cap on the rigs it pertains too. Evap. systems are so dang sensative these days.

PS: Also if you cant find the leak a shop can do a smoke test on it and find it pretty quick for you. Let us know Eduardo and make RSH help too.
