Cheap Tester??

Sound advice from my experience. My 92 had a high-pressure discharge valve on the rear of the compressor. To the best of my knowledge, the valve is designed to "relieve" the system when the pressure reaches or passes approximately 450 psi. By that time the system would be greatly overcharged and is probably more likely to blow a line. Best to either use a "healthy" set of manifold gauges or pay someone to fix it. I've had lines blow apart because the spring lock wasn't properly seated. Even at moderate pressure it was not a pleasant experience. Just my humble opinion of course.

Can we please just let this go? I explained my position on my post to Explorin and he accepted it. And I never 'disrespected' you while:

Your quote:

You and I were both 'out of line' to some degree but show me where I ever said anything like that directed personally to you....

Take my word on this....some people don't want to hear a reasonable explanation and they will ask the same question over and over again until they get an answer they like, right or wrong. A poster on another Ranger forum claimed to be a veteran and a firefighter....well he posted a picture of his truck which was distinctive and one of a kind. He lived in my town and works at Burger King!!!!!
It's the internet and BS rules! Read the thread about "Does anyone use propane as refrigerent in their truck"....that'll amaze you. When school starts back up the crazy posts will tone down.

actually i had a 36 vw beetle that used propane refrigerant due to the way the water pump was, i can't remember the entire story, but something about where it was and how the coolant flowed, freon wouldn't work so they used propane instead... it seemed to work ok, but i'll tell you getting that recharged was a pain in the ass...
