Changed Timing Belt Low Rpms No Power. Help Please

Ok, I have a 1986 Ranger 2.3l 4x4 i changed the timing belt, lined up all the sprockets to there marks and what not. Put her back together. Now she idles rough and the rpms are low when i put the pedal down. I tried driving the truck and it has no power what so ever, I can barely make it up my hill. Please help me out what did I overlook. Thank You

recheck to make sure the crankshaft is at TDC and the camshaft is lined up properly. If these are correct then just check the timing and adjust the distributor to set it to 10 degrees btdc with no advance.

did you spin it over twice by hand to make sure everything was where it should be before you started it? Whenever i do a timing belt at work, i always spin it by hand and recheck the timing marks, in fact the factory service procedure for replacing a 2.3 timing belt mentions doing this if i recall correctly. id definitely pull the front cover back off and make sure that the timing marks are right.

Just out of curiosity, why did you change it. Did it break or was it just old?

the timing belt is old. ok here i go wish me luck
