I have a 1998 ranger XLT and When I try to lift it up for a person to sit down instead of stopping where its supposed to it falls all the way back any help with this?

Sounds like something has come loose. You’ll have to figure out how to carefully open the back of it and see what’s going on inside. Might just be something loose or there might be a broken piece.

I figured out its a little broken metal piece that stops it they broke on both sides any recommendations to put it back on

Welder? Wet the seats and carpet down beforehand if you try it though. I'd be more likely to try some JB-Weld or something similar.

Depends how it was built the first time. Welder would probably be best. I would take the seat out of the truck, move the cover and padding as far out of the way as possible, cover with fireproof pads and weld it back. I'd probably leave the seat outside overnight before putting it back in the truck. I'm just paranoid about stuff smoldering and burning.
