I could not get to the fuel pump wires on my Ranger so I could try to do the fix I posted. I did move the antennae and coax to the back of the bed on the opposite side....far away from the fuel pump as possible. It is much better now.

You actually get the best reception dead center of your truck so usually its right behind the cab dead center but you can just divide length and width and figure it out..

Guys, most of the noise in cb's on the rangers are from the electric fuel pump in the tank.
