I agree for the most part. I like the CBand because you have access to a lot of real time information like traffic, weather, safety when mobile. When stationary I like SSB, 2 meter, 10 and 11.
My brother the other day told me that he came across another trucker (he's an owner/operator) that had a 1/4 wave dipole mounted on his headache rack behind the sleeper. He (my brother) is retired Marine and a comm specialist. The other trucker was amazed that someone recognized what it was. Everybody wants to spout antennas and watts, but most don't know the first thing about either.
