CB Power Supply

What should I use for the power and ground when istalling my CB. I used the Cig Lighter and get nothing but Ignition noise unless I have something else plugged into the Cig Lighter.

run them straight to the battery.

i picked up a brand new (for cheap on ebay) noise suppressor used on cop cars for their radios. i'm running all my radio, cb, and one 12v socket off it. it handles more than enough watts/amps for me as it uses 10ga wiring to the battery/ground. mine is big, about 6x3x4in high, but i fit it under the hood and used a fused 12ga wire thru the firewall to the radios.
there are smaller noise suppressors on ebay that should do you well.

Run a heavy gauge (4+) straight from the battery along the side and the back of the engine compartment down underneath the cab through a hole that you poke into a rubber grommet in the cab. Should end up under the passenger seat. Get a distribution block and mount it under the seat. Running from the block to anywhere in the cab seamlessly is easy from here. This way you have power to run anything else you may want to add later. OH dont forget to put a fuse in line as close to the battery as possible.
