Went and bought my CB today, so I mounted it up. Afterwards, I grabbed my armorall wipes and cleaned the truck up just a little bit. It was dusty as hell (still is fairly dusty in there), and I actually had a hard time seeing the gauges in the dark, LOL!

Anyway, pictures:

Anybody got any ideas on how I can get rid of this residue? It was from the velcro things that held my dash mat down.

And here are some I took last weekend after I washed the truck. Nothing special.

Tomorrow I am mounting my antenna's and possibly wiring the CB, if I can figure it out. I haven't done it before. I also gotta find a speaker in my garage, or otherwise go buy one.

This setup isn't permanent. I am gonna build a console here soon, just gonna wait till pay day or something.

Lookin good man. Try goo gone on that glue crap. Usually it takes it off pretty good.

Wiring CBs is pretty easy. Just run the power wires to whatever...could by straight off the battery or connected to the ignition wire in your dash. I would recommend the latter. Then run your antenna wire and mount the antenna somewhere. You will want to have someone familiar with radios do a SWR test on it before you try using it so you don't blow up the transmitter in the radio.

Blaster makes one hellofa sticker residue remover. I believe its DSR Blaster. Decal & sticker remover. I used it to remove my factory pinstripes because they made my truck look a little white trash.

Laquer thinner will rip that right off without damaging the dash.

no don't use any of the solvents mentioned on an older dash.try interior stuff like armour all first and rub it off.

i dunno about for useage an the dash but i was removing some stickers off my back window with a razorblade which usally takes the entire sticker and any residue but it was an old sticker and my neighbor saw what i was doing and suggested using carb cleaner, it worked great!

Wd 40 Oh, Ranger_mclaren dont remind me about the mountain bike I bought the truck to haul (the bike sitting lonely and neglected on the porch)
