carburated 4 liter

remember the movie multiplicity, when the clone made a clone of himself and he wasnt quite right. that is how your converted carborated 4l engine would be.

you dont want it going around wearing goggles, licking razers and calling everyone steve? leave it efi

what is wrong with a 2.8 dizzy in a 2.9. i do not know the diffrence

2.8 has a gear driven cam that spins counter to the crankshaft.

2.9 has a chain driven cam that spins with the crankshaft.

2.8 distributors spin backwards and don't fit right in chain driven engines.

IIRC they don't swap nicely from one to the other. The topic has been brought up extensively in regards to swapping a 2.8 top end onto a 2.9 to convert a 2.9 to carb. I can't recall the specifics of it at this moment, but I think it was determined that you'd have to get a custom drive gear cut.

I messed with carbs for 40 yrs. If I never have to work on a 70s up car with a carb ,it will be too soon. EFI for the win!.
