I recently installed a 302 in my b2. I have a edelbrock 4bbl 1406 600cfm carb that came off a Ford 460. I was curious as to what size jets I would need for the 302. It seems to act likes I'm flooding it when stepping on the pedal.

That carb is just a bit big for a 302. If I recall correctly a 450 CFM carb is far more appropriate.

I think you can get 450s in 2 and 4 barrel. CFM is just the flow rate (Cubic Feet/Minute).

The 600 has too large of venturi`s to jet it properly not enough displacement. If your looking for economy the motorcraft 2150 two barrel 1.08- 1.21 venturi or autolite 4100 four barrel with the 1.18 primaries. If the engine is stock a good 2 barrel will give it everything it can handle but if you dump too much fuel in it it will score the cylinders and raw fuel will wash down into the crankcase and out the exhaust. Holly has some good carbs for the 302 that are plug and play also that are time tested and very dependable.
