My front end has been squeaking for awhile but it just got a lot louder. Finally found that it was coming from my upper control arm. I put some bearing oil in it to hopefully stop it but didnt do anything -____- Any ideas?

bearing oil? why would you put that on an uca?

your best bet is to replace it with a moog part, the moog problemsolvers are abit more expensive, but they have replaceable ball joints, which are about 1/4 of the cost of a new ome style uca...

if you don't expect to wear them out again, you could always just get the ome style and save a few bucks

The only reason I used the oil is because I didn't want to put anything in there that would be harmful to the rubber, guess I have to replace the arm.

Might as well do the whole arm so both bushings are new and the ball joint

You need to replace the whole arm if you get an OE part. I don't know if the bushings are replaceable (never checked. Pretty sure they were not though). Ford one is $70 (if I remember right). Not hard to install a new one. Just don't forget how the shims came out. Put it back that way or you will get a pull and your alignment will be off.

Already picked up the new arm, got a moog one with a grease fitting for the ball joint. The ball joint is also replaceable in the new arm :headbang: If it wasn't snowing I would be outside doing it now. BTW advance auto parts is awesome, they had it in stock and for less then the moog site.

How many miles on it?

What front suspension do you have?

I have used silicone spray to look for squeaks......I spray one part and then drive it .......when the squeak goes away you found the right part.........if you spray silicone on the UCA bushing area the squeak will probably go away for a while..........Moog is the recommend brand.

look for a snap ring holding the BJ in place?

if you do change the UCA. mark them before removing to get them close to where they belong..........then drive right to an alignment shop or you will trash your tires....

80k with torsion bars and a fabtech lift, got the new one so im ready to go once it gets nice out. Plus i got a sweet place by me that does good alignments for lifted trucks
