Can't identify this part in the cooling system (PIC included)

Vince, are you in a huge hurry for the part? If you can wait until tomorrow evening I might be able to get you a new one. I ordered the one pictured for my truck and I paid $16 for it. Of course it's not exactly like yours but I'm pretty sure I can get the right one.

That is close. The part where the blue comes in would actually have male threads 3/8 in the one side will have female threads 3/8" then that nipple like the part you have will be about 3/8"

What is that part called? Where are you getting it from?

I got it at a parts store called Merle's. They are based here only in Arizona. They will let you look through their books as most of the hard to find stuff isn't listed in the computer. If you would like I can get you a price on the part. I'm going there tomorrow afternoon to pick up some hose anyway.

I got a line on a yard here (Eastern, PA) that has a couple of old 3.0's for parts. If you cold find the part when you are there and get me a name or part number that would be awesome. I'm praying that I can get it tomm and get this truck running again!

It's called the ECT(engine coolant temperature) sensor housing. Don't confuse it with the engine temperature sensor that goes to your gauges.

I'll see what I can find for you tomorrow. It shouldn't be more then $22 total USPS 3 day priority shipped.

Just a quick update for all who care.....

I went to the yard this morning and had no luck! Rangers are slim right now. The few they had were picked through.

The windstar and taurus 3.0 were close but not perfect. So we struck out at the u-pull-it.

Then I called a locak used truck part house and he said he had some 3.0's and let us pick em over. It was there and I got it. Still don't have a ford part number (Ford swears it does not exist outside of ordering the thermostat housing).
