i'm up for cheating as long as it saves half the work :icon_thumby:

I would rather do the engine swap than move around cab mounts and make the bed fit. :icon_twisted:

Why not just put the ranger body on the explorer frame?

If I recall correctly, the Explorer frame is actually a couple inches wider and are only the same from the firewall forward. The differential mounts completely different, and I don't think it would be in the right spot anyway.

youd be better off starting with a 98 or newer ranger

And I also agree that it would work better on a 98+ Ranger. I really don't think I'd want the TTB locked in all the time. The newer set-up was designed to be AWD.

Why not just get a 4wd ranger, and click the 4wd on when you need it? :icon_confused:

I've seen it done on the newer, torson bar trucks, but not on an older ttb truck.

Probably start wrecking stuff on dry pavement, the diesel guys do it at the drag strip, but that only a 1/4 mile

I just think itd be pretty slick to have an AWD 351 or 302 ranger with a turbo or supercharger, and give evos and sti's a run for their money
IN A RANGER! :headbang:

It is in the rear (and I think it swoops down lower too) The rear springs sit under the frame in an Explorer and beside the frame in a Ranger... but they both come out to the same width. Since the front suspension is the same a Ranger I don't know if it would be wider up there or not...
