Can Forscan deactivate the TPMS system?

My point with how at least PA handles emissions is that everyone is required to get a safety inspection every year. If the CEL is on, it won’t pass and won’t be passed until whatever the issues are that caused the CEL to illuminate are fixed.

PA uses the OBDII system on the vehicle to perform the emission testing. The same thing the on board computer uses for the CEL.

So, the state is milking extra money out of people for an emissions sticker.

It’s not like the old system where they stick a “sniffer” in the tail pipe (something most garages can’t do anymore) and there was no CEL to flag that there is an issue.

Since one can’t pass the safety inspection with a lit CEL, the emissions test is redundant and ripping off the population.

I’ve been told it’s and FX4 thing. The non-FX4 Rangers have a stiffer suspension.

Seems to me that it should be the opposite so that there is less chance of a bottom strike during suspension compression and for better control and handling on the trail. But what do I know?

Up until now, stiffer dampening (to a point) has always been viewed as better to those who drive off road. You don’t want the vehicle shaking itself apart either, so there is a fine line.
I will have to confirm this. I test drove both and went with the Sport 4x4 instead of the FX4. I knew I could add the TM and Trail control down the line with forscan and was planning on tire change fairly soon after purchase so the added money for those didn't seem worth it. I also liked how the Sport rode more like a truck than a SUV. One of my friends that has a 19 FX4 rode with me to the airport and asked if I'd put different shocks on mine because it rode much stiffer than his. He offered to trade even trying to tell me the FX4 shocks were made bay Fox haha. I told him I was pretty sure only the Tremor came with Fox shocks haha

Title pretty much covers it. My 2011 E350 (8800 GVW) constantly has issues with the TPMS. Part of the issue is the recommended rear pressure is 80psi and the front 60psi. If I drop the rear pressure back to 60psi for ride quality it alarms. Ford always resets it at oil changes with the courtesy tire rotation but they always set the rears back to 80psi and it rides like a metal wheeled skateboard unless I drop the pressure. They refuse to reduce the rear pressure due to liability. I'm sure the batteries are at their end of life and I don't want to go through the expense of replacing all 4 of them.

Thanks

You ever get this worked out?

I think I was able to disable it completely with Forscan, but you should also be able to change the setpoints for the pressure to match your preferred tire pressure.
