looking to buy new cam-corder, don't know anything about them. all suggestions will be helpful.

My best suggestion would be to do a lot of looking around before you lay out the cash. there are many things to consider, what you will use it for and what you want to do with the video you record. There are four popular types of storage media, tape, disk, hard drive and the solid state memory card cameras are just coming onto the market. They also come with a variety of different features but if you will never use the features there's no use paying for them. It should also be comfortable to use. Most units yeild good results today but if it's too conplicated to use or transfer the video from, you will not enjoy it to its fullest.

It's a subject that could be discust for hours. You might try talking to people you see using them as they are usually only too happy to tell you what they do not like about the one they are using.

if your looking to post vids on the internet I would look into one of the internal harddrive cams they cost a lil more but a good thing about them is no tapes or dvds to mess with and you can even rec. in HD " the new fad " draw backs if you don't have a computer handy and your cam is full your just stuck with a full cam with no way to rec. anymore till you offload your vid
