Callsigns?

Red Man on the CB, runnin on Ch 19 (& sometimes yellin at kids on the PA)

I don't have one. But I can be found on the 10 meter band lurking and chatting anyhow. I don't annoy the guys like alot of truckers do though.

VA7WST - use a Icom 2200 in the truck and looking for a home unit one day..........

Derek

I inherited my handle from my dad because i simply couldn't think of a handle and since he was'nt driving trucks when I first got into CBs, dad said "use my old handle."

how do i get one? i know the phonetic alphabet, but what do i need to be certified as a radio operator?

There are practice exams and study information on the web, just put "Amateur radio" in quotes to filter out a lot of the crap that'll come up otherwise.

The one I used when I upgraded from General To Extra was:

(this is the second hit on a google search for "Amateur radio practice exams")

Hi all-

My call sign is in my user name. I haven't decided what equipment to put in the truck yet, probably just a 2-meter rig, but I have CB equipment as well. Old timer alert: I have a CB FCC-issued call sign.

Anyone got one? Mines KJ4QZG... I'm not on any repeaters yet let alone any radio equipment whatsoever... money issues. Plan to be on 6 meter band one day. lol.

KD6TDF here.

I'm a Native Texan, but I got the 6 call when Uncle Sam had me stationed at Eddie's Air Plane Patch in the middle of the Mojave Desert for 6 years or so.

I'm mainly on 2m/440MHz mobile around New Braunfels/San Marcos Texas. Also have .5 Kw HF in my F-250, but I'm not that active on HF mobile.

de W1ES - Licensed since 1982, moved to NC in '06. No good 4-calls left so W1ES is gonna be it.

80 - 6 plus the usual 2m/440. Still scratching my head on where to install the IC-208 in my just-acquired standard cab '97. I hate to disfigure the top of the dash as it's in great shape.
