c clips 100 dollars?

an easy fix, because I needed these parts yesterday, find a driveline speciality repair shop explain what you need and they will have it. the splined washer is $11 and the c clip is 3.60

update ,the c clips from the ttb44 was exact match. the splined washer on the other hand is thicker and has less teeth. I found one splined washer that is correct fit it is very thin. could I use a washer thats similar without teeth? According to my ford dealer the washer is now obsolete. you can still order the c clip at the price of 9.98 a piece but,you have to order 4 of them. Im going to try the drive line specialist tommorow. that is a good piece of advice. I did put the rest of my parts on though.4 wheel drive now working. yehaaaa! I figured since I been running around without the clips any how trying out the 4 wheel drive wouldnt hurt as long as I didnt stress it.

I looked closer at the washer with the splines or teeth in it. If i use a washer thats the same size then only half of the surface as normal will ride against the c clip, because of the missing teeth. half the thickness of the c clip thats below the surface of the axle will be lost. I dont know if that will be enough.

I don't understand why you're trying to redneck this.

It's not hard to get the correct parts from the junkyard, and one poster even gave you a source for new ones.

well just to clarify. Dealer said washer now obsolete!!, searched over 20 savage yards no one had them!! I did find c clips. I stated I would try drive line specialist. Im not trying to red neck anything. Maybe where your from parts are plentiful but not here. I havent found one dana 35 from any vehicle in a salvage yard. Im around flint mi. Im trying to do it right, but if you cant find parts from a parts store, and you cant find them at a dealer, and you cant find them at salvage yard ....and some parts stores dont have stores in my location, I checked . so dont tell me theyre not hard to get, unless of course you want to get them for me at a resonable price? should be easy right, money where mouth is so to speak.

I'm going to my local Pick-n-Pull this weekend. I will get you a set and mail them to you if you want.

that would be great, Im spending more gas and time than these things can possibly be worth. pm me where to send money and thank you. I cannot believe how hard these parts are to find. even jeffsbroncograveyard, told me he could not get them anywhere. and hes not that far from me.

I dont mind, you guys should see the snow plow I built from wood. I hope to have it hooked up in a couple days. I only need to plow two swipes down a 150 ft driveway. I really take pride in being a redneck actually. too bad I lost my video of my goldwing. I took motor out and stripped to frame in my kitchen. Im not joking, all my friends loved it when my wife got home from work and I shot her on video. it took me like six hours to totally strip it,and four hours to clean up mess.man she was pissed! alright guys later.

man, that snow plow worked like charm, plowed about 5 inches of snow today. now Im thinking about buying real one. I wanted to get the feel to see how my truck would handle it. I dont plan on doing alot of snow, but its much better than a snowblower or shovel. A guy on plowsite put one on his truck that was made for an atv, about 72 inches I think. light weight, smaller version than reg. but claims it works well. I dont want to stress my truck with a full size. I think you can get one for like 400 dollars, not bad. and you can back plow with it. my home made wood one works like a snowsport. guess I better post right place with this from now on.

I would like to say thank you to BlackBII for sending those badly needed parts. My wife asked me today 'and this guy just sends you these parts for nothing?" and I say " I know thats one of the nicest thing someone has done for me." I cant thank you enough. Im glad they are guys like you still around, willing to help out without trying to make a buck. very cool man!! If I can do something for anyone let me know.

So you got the package then?

Glad I could help. :icon_thumby:
