Bumper bolts?

I shouldn't have any issues if I replace my the bolts that hold the bumper to the bracket, right? The old bolts have a metal strip holding the bolts so that the bolts do not spin when you are turning the nuts holding the bumper on. I need to replace them because I need longer bolts to allow me to install light brackets on the top two bolts.

Yup, onely thing is the stip is were you dont have to fight with holding a wrench and ratchet(i'd assume)

That's what I figured.

when i mounted the brush guard on my frame, i switched to stainless hex head bolts and nuts so they wouldn't rust in the salt/snow winters here.

i just replaced mine with 10.9 grade M14 bolts and added a tow hook in the back.

had no problem holding the head of the bolt with a wrench. lower your spare tire to gain some access.

also mine were rusted on TIGHT. i tried it at home with a huge breaker bar and decided F this and used my snap on 1/2" impact to snap them off. if yours are rusted im betting that a compressor kit 300ft/lb gun wouldn't even loosen them. you'll either need a very strong gun or a huge breaker bar

I was actually talking about my front ones but this is quite useful info as I was deciding on putting a tow hook on the back of my truck as well. Thanks.

That's a good idea. But I'd be fine with using a wrench and socket.

i did when adding a brush guard to a semi one time, and you couldn't get to the head of the bolts. so just using more tools wasn't really an option. i had barely enough room to get the 2 bolts and flat stock in there.
