bullnose 1/2 ton

Whoever owned it in Florida was really invested in the truck to get all that work done at a shop big enough to be reporting it all to state agencies.
looked like that woukd of been quite a bill too for all that was done.

Went & took a look this morning, its not in my driveway due to a title issue. grrrr. original owner died, was put in a daughter’s name, something not done correctly & the guy who has possession of it now is trying to get that fixed. Estate situations are the worst, I went through that one other time & you’d think it was a 69 boss 429 mustang or some other high end valuable vehicle. Guess I wait & see. looks good though. 3.08 rear end, not crazy about that ratio but theres always that creeper 1st to start out in even if the trailer is empty. might run the vin on free lookup & see if I gain any other knowledge.

Rear ends are easy enough to swap...but that 3.08 might be a godsend for general cruising. I dont know what youre planning on towing but if your escape is dragging it around even with 3.08s you wont hurt for power.

I had a buddy had an 84 "fuel saver" package truck with a 300, that 3sp w/OD trans and a 2.47rear. He hauled cars and scrap all the time with it.

Not sure how cause i went to back it up a hill once empty and literally thought the parking brake was stuck lol.

I’ll try it and see how it goes. I remember dads 74 with the 300 & creeper 4 speed was screaming at 65, 70 was all it had. It was a 3.73 rear.

That’s why when I replaced the M5OD in my F-150 I had the option to go 4-speed or ZF5. I went ZF5 so I had a highway gear. 31” tires and 3.55 axle gears and it does everything I need it to do.

Ive had the goodyear wranglers on a couple of vehicles & they have always done well in snow. I remember when they were $50 a tire, back then there was a whole size lineup of those tires, from 215/75/15 to 32/11.50/15’s now the 235/15 is all thats left.
On pins & needles, fingers crossed you get that truck! 🤩

Got it home today after work, made the mistake of trying the rear tank, started running rough, think it had old and/or contaminated fuel. At minimum need a fuel filter. Before that was running great. Needs a thermostat too. seems to be running about 2200 rpm @ 55. Too cold to do much right now. What’s hilarious is that I was checking the lights out & couldn’t figure out how to get high beams. Ive been away from old-school stuff so long I completely forgot about floor dimmer switches! Gonna have to move some stuff outta the garage, its a bit longer than my escape. Shift knob came off. might try jb weld.
