Considering how fast vehicles depreciate, its never a good investment to buy new. its not worth anything after a year or two.
All you are getting is a smell that some people like. and the lack of problems! Is the 10k worth the lack of problems? I am Pretty sure that I have not spent 10k on cars in the last 10 years!
I wouldn't order a limited slip. Can't throw a Lock Right into a limited slip and I want a real locking axle in anything.
I'm not going to say owning new is never good. The new cars we have bought had such good resale that it made more sense to buy new. When we bought our new '05 Pilot the used '03-'04 cars were the same price as the new ones. Fords don't have that enviable problem. I would never buy a new Ranger though. I could pick up a damned fine used one for half the cost.
