would anyone here happen to know where to find the build sheets on these trucks?? I was wanting to find the one for my '03.

Any guesses??

thanks guys,
James

usually there under the passenger side carpet on rangers, pull the passenger seat, and then pull the carpet up and hope urs survived the years

Ya they put them in a pretty bad spot on Rangers. I'm doing the interior in my friends 1978 Fairmont, and they put the build sheets inside of the front seat backs.

I ordered one from the dealer, it was close to 30 pages when they handed it to me.

I had no idea they were in all vehicles somewhere.

??i think hes talkin about the vehicle specific build sheet, its usually one page somwhere in the vehicle

did you just give them the VIN for it and they get the sheet? hmmmm sounds a little easier than pulling the seat out (and finding it all rotten) and what have you.

I called them and asked for a "build sheet". Had no idea there was more than one.

They printed it off with my VIN number.

It listed all the packages, and part numbers they pulled out of stock to build the truck.

Hence why it was 30 pages long.

I found out my Super Duty has the stiffest front springs available, which it why it sits so darn high up. It also has a snow plow prep package.

Cool info!

well I got curious and pulled the trim peice that covers the edge of the carpet and sure enough I could see the build sheet. was able to pull it out, just tore a small peice off the top where it was pinched by the seat frame.

only problem is that this thing doesn't show the final build DATE (the day it actually rolled off the line) which is what I was after. hmmmmmmmmmm

I thought you could find the build date by deciphering the VIN number.

Just kidding it was what number truck rolled off the line that year.
Decipher VIN #

Seems like mine was just laying in the floor when I picked it up new. It was built 7/31/02 the last day before the '03 year model began. Shipping papers showed it was shipped 8/19/02 by rail to meridian MS then trucked to the stealership in Tallulah, LA. After that it was a 600 mile dealer trade to TX.
