budget 86 ranger (lots of pics)

still havent gotten the chance to ask about the 2wd, but i need advice on welding my rear end up, do i need to take the dears out the weld them, or can i do it in the axle housing, and put rags down for the spark? if someone could give me the link to a thread for welding up a 7.5 it would be greatly appreciated.

and also, would a 302 starter work on my 2.9? i can get one of those for cheap, and i was told that it might work on my truck

dont think the starter will work, for welding you can do it in the truck, make sure you dont get any splatter over the ring and pinion, and if your never worried about takin apart the carrier again you can weld the spiders together and to the carrier thats what im gonna be doing cause if it breaks screw it i got lots of other axles

ok well my truck has 3:45 gears, i painted my tailgate, and now for some bad news...there is clicking in my front end, its either wheel beearings or u joints :(

ok i think im gonna start flat blacking the ranger this weekend, and gonna order some parts off boggin also. and maybe get my tach wired up. gonna be a busy weekend.

That is one SICK ranger! I almost had one like it but the seller wouldent awnser my calls and sold it to another guy this morning cause he paid him full :bawling:

that sucks, i love this truck, needs 33 inch tires though

I have a 86 too and those things are beast! I like the truck too almost exactly what I want to do!!

thanks, i love this pickup too, i traded up from my bronco, this truck needs 33's to make it look right though

Agreed I wanna get 31's on mine but can't find the 4" to fit them under it haha

you dont need a 4 inch lift for 31's, my bronco had a 2 inch lift and had 31's on it, this has 7 inches of lift, and 31's are way to small

no, not unless i jumped it or flexed the shit outta it (i did both of those thinds ALOT) lol

Okay sound good. I should be gettin a 3" body lift soon and I want to level out the front. Wouldn't coild spacers work? I'm not familar with those.
