Brorken bell????

Any thoughts on the 4 speed on the 2.3 bell housing cracking then the starter grinds? I need a fix cant seem to find a bellhousing anywhere any help??? this come on my 83 ranger 4x4 Thanks Yall

Not sure why it broke, but you can use the bell off a 2wd. I just did a 2.8-2.3 swap and used a 2.3 TK5 bell on a fm146 trans just fine. So that might open some options for you. Just look for a 2.0, or 2.3 with a removable bell. Get the appropriate slave cylinder though. If I'm right yours is external and still uses a clutch fork most of the newer ones use a hydraulic throwout bearing. Or JB weld works good I've seen it patch a cracked head in a turbo diesel and hold.
