Hello i own an 85 b2 and am having trouple keeping it running. I can start it with jumper cables and it will idle but die as soon as the cables are removed. i have replaced the battery, alternator ,starter/relay. I am led to believe it is the wiring. I know very little about the electrical/wiring and am dying for advice seeing as my vehicle is on the side of a major highway and am trying to avoid the tow into town. Please help any advice is dearly appreciated as iam new to b2s. Thank you to those who view and post.

Boy, It sounds like you have done everything I would do. On my 88 I had the same problem and found that for some reason, and I don't know why, if I left the cables on after getting her started for a few minutes then there was no problems removing them. like I said I don't know why. maybe the computer needed to reboot.
good luck. I wish I could be more help to you.

Find the big wire on the alternator, hook up your jumpers up, and then look for voltage between there and the battery negative post.

Also, a new battery should at least let you drive it out of there.

Voltage regulator maybe? :dunno:
